From Strength to Strength: Securing Beth Am’s Future and Honoring Rabbi Marder
The From Strength to Strength campaign continues to hum along, with over $7M in commitments so far. Thank you to our early donors who have already invested in the success of this visionary effort! This multi-faceted initiative will help ensure our community’s future by building up our endowment, providing resources to assist our clergy in buying homes, making much-needed facility improvements, sustaining ongoing security needs, and developing innovative programs to engage the next generation of members in community life.
From Strength to Strength also includes a new component to honor Rabbi Marder on her retirement from Beth Am after 21 years. The Marder Endowment for Living Torah will be funded from campaign contributions and will ensure that the programs and opportunities that Rabbi Marder has built and nurtured at Beth Am will be sustained for many years to come. The Marder Fund is a meaningful and enduring way for our community to thank Rabbi Marder for her countless gifts to our congregation.
In many conversations with donors, our From Strength to Strength campaign cabinet hears wonderful things about the impact that Rabbi Marder and Beth Am have had on their lives. In March, the entire congregation will be invited to participate in this important, once-a-decade opportunity to better position our community for the future. We hope that, just as our early donors have, each and every member will be moved to join in too! Please watch your mail in March for more information, or visit the From Strength to Strength webpage.
WHY WE GAVE:
"Beth Am is an island of tranquility and grace in a fraught world. Being connected to fellow congregants who are positive, informed and wise is uplifting. We strongly support the From Strength to Strength campaign so that Beth Am can continue to be a leading light in the Reform movement, continue to offer such a wide range of services and attract such outstanding clergy." —Mahbobeh Hirmand and Barry Zwarenstein
"Over the years we’ve been members at Beth Am, we’ve come to truly appreciate the impact Beth Am has on our children, on us and our community. We enjoy the wonderful services, have seen our kids (and us) grow through Jewish education programs, will always think of Beth Am’s role in many of our major life moments and more recently, through social justice programs allowing us to play a critical role in our wider community. The campaign supports both the Beth Am team and programming that we value, and we want to do our part to nourish and grow a vibrant Jewish community in our area." —Sarah Munson and David Doctorow
